Useful Kitchen Furniture for the Organized Cook
Kitchen islands provide an abundance of storage space, work space, and depending on the design of the island, possibly space for eating. If a kitchen doesn’t have an island and is too small for an island to be added, maintaining organization in the kitchen can be challenging. With a little creativity and the help of some carefully selected pieces of furniture, it is possible to create an attractive, functional, and organized kitchen.
A small, narrow baker’s rack is one possible furniture option that is decorative and functional. You can keep small kitchen appliances such as mixers and toasters on a baker’s rack. Some are designed with hooks for hanging kitchen utensils. This keeps you accessories where they are easily accessible. You can store dishes, bowls, and cookware on a baker’s rack. Selecting the tallest rack that you can fit into your kitchen will vertically increase your usable space.
A free standing pantry or tall cabinet provides a lot of storage space in a kitchen. To increase the organization inside of the cabinet you can place baskets on the shelves for small items. Make sure to establish an organizational system that is convenient for you the first time you fill the cabinet.
A corner storage unit is a great way to utilize what is often unused space in a room. You could add a corner hutch to your kitchen to gain additional storage space. There are metal cookware stands that will conveniently fit in a corner. This is a great way to keep your cookware easily accessible.
Sometimes it is good to incorporate some unexpected pieces of furniture into your kitchen design to help keep it organized. A rustic Connoisseur Book Stand would be a great addition to your kitchen. It would be perfect for organizing cookbooks or other small kitchen items.
Any type of shelving system that you can fit into your kitchen design will be helpful in providing organizational space for you. To keep the shelves from looking cluttered, kitchen towels, table linens, silverware, and much more can be stored in wicker baskets placed on the shelving unit.
