Kitchen Storage with a Beautiful Bang
Adding kitchen storage can be difficult because it is not often when one can find pieces of furniture that will mesh well with the décor in the home. One way to take away the distress of finding this to be true is to contrast it instead with mirrored furniture. Not only will the color no longer matter very much, but the mirrored look will reflect the rest of the room and create a special look that will be unique.
There are several kinds of kitchen furniture that will work as extra storage and fit wherever the available space is located. If the only room left is in a corner, there are several nice little corner shelves that are one piece that would look great there. The base can be wood in any shade desired. Adding mirrors to the doors is a rather recent idea. This is beautiful for a kitchen more so because it will make the dimensions seem so much deeper and give a warm feeling to the entire room.
Kitchen bureaus have been around for hundreds of years. Applying a mirrored finish on them has brought a new attraction to this piece. They are often a little taller than waist high on most people and come with either drawers or shelving with doors. The older ones have drawers in them with intricate detail carved or inlaid in the wood. The mirrored finish can still have much detail in it with the leaps made with glass etching and the like.
Kitchen islands have become a favorite work center for many women and men alike. This idea started out as a mobile piece that could be added in times of need. Today though, it has become a permanent fixture and a staple to any large kitchen. As time has passed and more innovative ideas have moved into the marketplace, this piece has also become popular with mirrored sides and doors as well. This, like other mirrored furniture, changes the style of an entire room.
Other storage pieces for a kitchen can be a configuration set that has cupboards top and bottom with a space in the middle. This would make a perfect piece for over a window so nothing would block the light, plus the sunlight on a mirrored work space could really add new life to the room.
